There are not a lot of gaps in Celtic’s squad right now. The club have relentlessly strengthened their ranks over the course of the past four transfer windows and they have reaped the benefits of that on the pitch. The Hoops have already won three trophies under the management of Ange Postecoglou, and are in contention for two more this season.

If there is one area of the pitch where Celtic might need to strengthen in the near future, it is goalkeeper. Joe Hart has done a good job, both as a player and as a leader, since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur last season.

At the same time, it is important to recognise that he is 36 years of age. Thus, sooner or later, the club will have to find a replacement for Hart. It does not feel like Benjamin Siegrist is that person, while Scott Bain is expected to be on his way out in the summer.

One interesting rumour surrounding Celtic in recent weeks has been about a potential interest in signing Caoimhin Kelleher from Liverpool. He is their second-choice goalkeeper behind Alisson Becker right now.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Kelleher hopes to get more minutes as regular starter elsewhere next season.

It looks like a loan deal could be a possibility. And if that is the case, then Celtic should definitely make their move.

Kelleher is a very good goalkeeper. He has proven that in the appearances that he has made for Liverpool till now. The only reason that he is not playing more often is because he has Alisson in the pecking order ahead of him.

Someone like him could be a fantastic goalkeeper for Celtic. And if they can bring him in on a loan with an option to buy, similar to the deals for Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers, then that could be a transfer masterstroke on the part of the club.
