Celtic are the dominant team in Scottish football right now. There is zero doubt about that. They won the double last season. They have already won the League Cup this time around, while they look almost certain to win the league from the position that they are in. And they also have a Scottish Cup semi-finals against the Rangers coming up later this month. So, a treble is still a possibility.
It goes without saying that the Rangers will be trying their best to stop Celtic at Hampden Park. It is most probably their last chance of winning any silverware this season, as well as their last chance of stopping the Hoops from winning a treble.
It is worth pointing out that the Rangers have not won a single Glasgow Derby this season till now, drawing one and losing three.
In the previous game, those associated with the Rangers have sounded very confident of their chances of getting the better of Celtic. But as we approach this upcoming Glasgow Derby, it feels like the tune coming out of Ibrox has changed a bit.
Celtic fans will be amused by Beale’s comments
As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Beale has been on talkSPORT Breakfast with Laura Woods & Ally McCoist and the Rangers manager said:
"“They’re always huge these games.“We’ve had rough luck a little bit in the games so far.“The one at Ibrox when I first came in, we should’ve held on in that game.“We know that they’re a good side and they’re dangerous, but we’ve been in and had opportunities in all three of the games so far.”"
On summer signings at Ibrox, he went on to add:
"“I think, in terms of right now, this group has given me what they can. I think we’re probably four or five players away from being where I want us to be.“That’s nothing against the players who are playing now, it’ll just make us stronger.”"
Thus, it feels like Beale and company might be taking a much more grounded approach ahead of the upcoming Glasgow Derby, after causing controversy with their pre-match comments in the past while not even going on to win from there.
Celtic cannot spend a second thinking about the comments coming of the Rangers camp though. They have to completely focused on themselves and getting ready for the upcoming Glasgow Derby as well as the remaining games in the league.
