Celtic have to make sure that they keep their best players at the club beyond this campaign. Ange Postecoglou is building something special at Parkhead and it might be way too early to tweak with it. At the same time though, some are expected to depart. We have already seen the likes of Josip Juranovic and Giorgos Giakoumakis leave. That is just the Hoops’ model.
One player who looks most likely to leave if the recent rumours are accurate is Liel Abada. The Israeli international arrived at Celtic in the summer of 2021 from Maccabi Petah Tikva.
He has proven to be a great signing, and played a key part in Celtic’s triumphs during the time of Postecoglou as manager. This season, he has found starts harder to come by though, with Jota and Daizen Maeda establishing themselves as the first-choice wingers.
Thus, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding the future of Abada. And it looks like three clubs are preparing transfer bids for him.
Three clubs preparing transfer bids for Celtic player
As tweeted out by Ekrem Konur, Ajax, Crystal Palace and Southampton are preparing an opening bid for Abada.
All three clubs have been linked with Abada over the course of the last few weeks. On the other hand, there have been suggestions that Celtic could be willing to let the Israeli international go for a figure around £10 million.
There is no doubt that Abada is a key player to this side. But at the same time, that would be a significant offer for a player whose primary role in this team is that of an impact substitute.
Let’s see what the future holds for Abada at Celtic. If he does end up leaving, the club would need to bring in someone in the summer to take his role in the squad.
