With six more league games left to be played, the gap in the Premiership table remains at twelve points, with Celtic leading the Rangers. The Hoops have a significantly better goal difference as well, thus realistically, two more wins should be good enough to crown them champions of Scotland for the second straight year.

On the other hand, the Rangers have failed to win any of the four Glasgow Derbies this season till now. Their best result has been a 2-2 draw at Ibrox, while losing the other three, including a Scottish League Cup final.

Thus, questions have been raised about the gap in Scottish football. At this point of time, Celtic seem quite a distance ahead of their Glasgow rivals. And Frank McAvennie appears to believe that the gap will only increase.

As reported by Football Insider, when asked if the gap between the two Glasgow giants is as big as it is being made out to be, the former Celtic player said:

"“I think it is going to get worse.“It is only going to widen.“Celtic have got money and I don’t think Rangers have, at least not the money they would like to put into their team.”"

It remains to be seen how things turn out in the future. At the moment, there is still a lot  left to be played for this season itself.

Celtic have still not won the league and they will like to get over the line as soon as possible. There are several all-time records up for grabs as well, ad let’s see if Postecoglou’s side can break them.

On the other hand, there is the Scottish Cup semi-finals, where Celtic will meet the Rangers at Hampden Park. It goes without saying that a lot is riding on the result of this game for both teams.

For the Hoops, it is a chance to keep their treble hopes alive. On the other hand, it might be the last chance for Beale’s side to win a trophy this season.
