Celtic transfer target ready to leave Premiership rivals
Celtic have shown an excellent eye for picking out talent during the time of Ange Postecoglou as manager of the club. Thus, the Hoops have assembled quite the impressive squad over the past couple of seasons and are without doubt the best team in Scottish football right now. They are not expected to stop strengthening though.
While Celtic have mostly made additions from other leagues in recent times, they will have their eyes on the brightest talent playing in the Premiership as well. And it looks like a full-back from Motherwell is on their radar.
That player is none other than Max Johnston of Motherwell. The 19-year-old has made quite the impression in recent times and established himself as a starter for the Premiership club. His future might lie elsewhere though.
As reported by Football Insider, Johnston has major interest from English clubs ahead of the summer window and is ready to turn down a contract extension. He is now “likely” to depart Motherwell. Celtic are among those who have kept close tabs on the situation.

Johnston spent the first half of the campaign out on loan at Cove Rangers before returning to Motherwell and establishing himself as a starter at just 19 years of age.
It is safe to say that Johnston is one of the brightest young talents in the Scottish Premiership right now. Thus, Celtic keeping an eye on him should come as no surprise.
The Hoops already have a Johnston playing at right-back for them. Could they add another to their ranks soon?
Of course, it looks like there will be plenty of interest in the youngster’s signature this summer. English clubs appear to be looking to sign him as well. Thus, let’s see what the future holds for the Motherwell right-back.
