Celtic have made very smart additions to their squad over the past couple of seasons. That is one of the biggest reasons behind their dominance over Scottish football, after it had looked like they were in for a tough few years following the disaster that was the 2020/21 campaign. Ange Postecoglou and company did not let that happen though and took the club straight back to the top of the mountain.
Celtic have relentlessly added to their squad over the previous four transfer windows and reaped the benefits of that on the pitch. One of their most recent additions is Oh Hyeon-gyu, who arrived in January from Suwon Samsung Bluewings.
Oh was brought in to fill the boots of Giorgos Giakoumakis, not an easy task. And while the South Korean striker might not be at that level yet, he is certainly impressing with his performances. He is just 21 years of age and has the potential to leave his mark at the club if he can develop according to expectations.
German World Cup winner and current South Korean national team manager, Jurgen Klinsmann, certainly seems to have been left impressed with what he has seen from Oh. As reported by the Daily Record, he said:
"“He’s a very special talent. I had him with me in the last two matches there when we played Colombia and Uruguay two weeks ago and he left a very, very positive impression.“I was very, very impressed. He’s a good lad and a huge talent I think for Celtic and for us in the Korean national team.”"

Oh is certainly someone who has a ton of potential. He is a very different striker to Kyogo and has his role in the team for sure, even though he might be behind the Japanese striker in the pecking order.
At 21 years of age, it is important to give Oh the time to develop his game and not to push him too quickly. As a result, his current role might be perfect for him.
Oh might be coming off the bench at this point of time, but he is still getting some decent minutes on the pitch. And he seems to be adjusting to the Scottish league pretty well.
