Considering the position that Celtic are in right now, it would be almost unimaginable for them to not win the Premiership title from here. They have already got their hands on the League Cup, so a double is almost certain. And a treble is still a possibility, with Ange Postecoglou’s side set to take on the Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi final.
That is a huge game without doubt. Perhaps the biggest match remaining for Celtic this season. And they would surely want to win it.
Celtic failed in the same fixture in the previous campaign, losing in the Scottish Cup semi final to the Rangers, then managed by Giovanni van Bronckhorst. They would not want to see a repeat of that in this campaign as well.
The Hoops have not lost a single game to the Rangers this season till now. And hopefully, that will remain the case, as we quickly head towards another Glasgow Derby.
Celtic hero sends brutal message to Rangers players
In the lead up to the last few Glasgow derbies, a lot of the headlines have been dominated by comments made by the Rangers players. Former Celtic player, Frank McAvennie, has sent them a clear message this time around. As reported by Football Insider, he said:
"“Callum McGregor said it last week that Celtic do their talking on the pitch.“All Rangers are doing is talking in the papers and I am getting fed up of it. Even the Rangers supporters are as well.“Do it on the park and then come out and say that you know you are better than them afterwards.“It is every time they play each other Rangers players claim they are better even though they get beat. Just do your talking on the pitch that is what I would say.“"
Celtic might not have lost to the Rangers this season till now, but they cannot make the mistake of taking Michael Beale’s side lightly. They have been very good in recent times as well.
In fact, they have only lost two matches since the appointment of Beale as manager last year. Both of them at the hands of Celtic.
Celtic did not look at their best in the previous Glasgow Derby either, even though they were good enough to win. Hopefully their performance will be better at Hampden Park.
