The upcoming summer transfer window is going to be an interesting one for Celtic. Over the past couple of seasons, they have been mostly focused on adding to their squad. But a number of their players are being linked with moves away in the summer, as they have impressed immensely in the Hoops.
One such player is believed to be Liel Abada, who seems to be drawing interest from the Premier League. The Israeli international is not a regular starter at the moment either, and has mostly been used as an impact substitute by Ange Postecoglou.
Thus, if a significant offer was to come in, then Celtic might consider it. In that scenario, they would need to bring in a winger to replace Abada in the squad though.
Fortunately for them, the perfect player might be available as a free agent in the summer. And it is none other than Reiss Nelson of Arsenal.
Celtic must sign €7 million-rated Arsenal player for free
Just like Abada, Nelson is a winger with the ability to make an impact in the final third of the pitch. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists in 5 Premier League appearances this season, in just 107 minutes of football.
Those are remarkable numbers to say the least and yet, Nelson has not made a single start in the Premier League this season. Arsenal have a very strong squad at the moment, and despite of the 23-year-old’s undeniable potential, it is hard to see him getting too many chances moving forward.
Nelson’s current deal runs out in the summer and a move away from Arsenal might be the right step for him at this stage of his career, when he needs to be playing regular football. Celtic might be the perfect club as well, where he would be expected to get ample chances in an attacking side.
On the other hand, Nelson ticks every box that Celtic look for when signing a player. He is just 23 with a ton of untapped potential. Thus, if someone like him succeeds at Parkhead, he could help the club to several trophies and bring in a huge transfer fee in the future when he departs.
