Celtic got themselves an easy 4-1 win away at Kilmarnock to move one step closer to the league title. With a number of injuries and the tricky Rugby Park surface, there were some worries heading into the game that the Hoops could slip up. They did not make any mistake on the day though.

They were four goals up by the 27th minute of the game, which could have been five if Kyogo had not missed a spot kick. And there was no real need to push further after that, as the game was put to bed and there are more important matches ahead.

One player who did take his chance against Kilmarnock was Matt O’Riley. He scored a brace against Derek McInnes’ team, doubling his goal tally for the season and tripling it in the league.

This performance should go a long way for O’Riley, as he has not been on a great run of form this season. And hopefully, he will rediscover his best over the coming weeks.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, O’Riley has scored 4 goals and provided 12 assists in 44 appearances across all competitions this season.

For a good while, it had looked like he had fallen behind Aaron Mooy in the pecking order as well. The Australian has done an excellent job since arriving in the summer.

But with Mooy struggling with fitness issues recently, O’Riley has come back into the starting XI and seems to be rediscovering some of his confidence for sure.

It took him until February to score his first goal of the ongoing campaign. He has four to his name by now. And slowly but surely, it looks like we are starting to see the O’Riley of last season once again, who had drawn links to the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool.
