Celtic are flying high after their win over the Rangers in the recent Glasgow Derby which sent them twelve points clear at the top of the league. Ange Postecoglou’s side cannot rest on their laurels though. They still have to get past the finish line and their next test is against Kilmarnock away at Rugby Park.

Kilmarnock are currently trying to stay up in the Scottish top flight. Thus, every game is important for them at this stage of the campaign.

As a result, this could turn out to be a tricky test for Celtic. While they have continued their winning run, there recent performances have not been the best. And it might not be a co-incidence that this run has come while Reo Hatate has been out injured.

Derek McInnes believes that his side can stop Celtic at Rugby Park. As reported by the Daily Record, the Kilmarnock manager said:

"“We all know the strengths of Celtic and what they try to do.“They don’t change the way they play. They try to get overloads through the middle and play in the last third.“You can try to set up to try and limit them and try to replicate in training what you will face.“But, ultimately it comes down to the set up of your players.“Players don’t live on Mars. They watch Celtic and they have played against them.“They know they are good players and all I would ask is they don’t let Celtic enjoy the game and let them stroll about.“This is the hardest three points to get in the league but there has to be a belief from us that we can get a positive result.“I believe we can stop them.”"

Celtic have dropped just five points in the league this season. They lost one game, away at St Mirren, and drew one, against the Rangers at Ibrox.

Thus, while they have not been perfect, they have been pretty close. And if they can continue to win till the end of the season, not only does a treble look possible, but this team could not end shattering some all-time records as well.

For that to happen, they must make sure that they do not take their eye off the ball for a second, even though they are in a comfortable position. Every match has to be given equal respect, and to be honest, Postecoglou’s side have done a great job of doing that over the past couple of seasons.

There is no reason to think that that approach will change. Let’s hope that they take their A-game to Rugby Park and return with all three points this weekend.
