Celtic have pulled off one transfer masterstroke after another during the time of Ange Postecoglou. Jota, Kyogo, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Alistair Johnston, Daizen Maeda, Matt O’Riley, Aaron Mooy and several other players have arrived at the club over the past four transfer windows. Their scouting and recruitment has been a key reason behind their successes on the pitch.

Celtic were pulling off transfer masterstrokes before the arrival of Postecoglou as well, although without this kind of consistency. One of the best signings that they have made over the years is bringing in Jeremie Frimpong from Manchester City.

When Frimpong arrived, expectations were not high and he was viewed as someone who would go into the developmental ranks. The Dutchman exceeded all expectations though and was a nailed on starter for Celtic just a few months after his arrival, while still a teenager.

Frimpong’s stay at Parkhead was not long. He would join Bayer Leverkusen just a season-and-a-half later. And he has been superb in the Bundesliga as well. His form there has seen him being linked with some of the biggest teams in the world, including Manchester United.

As tweeted out by Patrick Berger, Frimpong is keen to move to Manchester United. Bayer Leverkusen demand a transfer fee around €50 million.

Of course, that will interest Celtic. The Hoops are believed to have a sell-on clause for Frimpong. And if he can really move for that kind of a transfer fee in the near future then that would bring in a significant cash boost for the club.

Nothing is set in stone yet though. Several other clubs are believed to be interested in signing Frimpong as well. But while his destination remains unclear, it does feel like the Dutchman will make a big move away from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
