Celtic are the most dominant team in Scottish football right now and by quite some distance. While the Rangers have been in good form since the appointment of Michael Beale as manager, they have not been able to get the better of the Hoops. In fact, the only two games that they have lost under the management of the Englishman were both against Ange Postecoglou’s side.

While Celtic and the Rangers sitting first and second in the league table is not unexpected, things have taken quite a twist behind them. It had looked like Hearts were nailed on for third for most of the season.

But they have been on a terrible run of form lately, which has seen Aberdeen get ahead of them out of nowhere. On the other hand, Hearts have shown Robbie Neilson the exit door and brought in Steven Naismith as the interim manager.

Naismith took the example of Celtic while talking at a press conference. As reported by Sky Sports, the Hearts interim manager said:

"“The long-term goal for the club has to be bringing more youth players through and playing a certain way in terms of exciting attacking football but that takes time and it’s the only way the club can grow.“The best example of that is Celtic. Celtic went from appointing a new manager, to him being criticised massively but sticking to what he believed and now they’ve just massively grown. That tells you it takes time.”"

Yes, when Celtic did make the appointment of Postecoglou as manager, more than a few eyebrows were raised. Many believed that it was the wrong decision on the part of the club, especially after the disaster that was the 2020/21 campaign for them.

Celtic did not make a great start under the management of Postecoglou either. They were knocked out of the Champions League qualifiers early and lost three of their first six league games in the season.

Thus, calls were made for him to be shown the exit door early on in the campaign itself. But thankfully, Celtic backed Postecoglou.

Now, Postecoglou has won three trophies for the Hoops and is closing in on more. On the other hand, there is a managerial merry-go-round in Scottish football right now, which seems to be showing no signs of stopping.
