Celtic are set to make the away trip to Kilmarnock this weekend to take on Derek McInnes’ team. This is a very important Scottish Premiership game for both the teams, but for opposite reasons. The Hoops are of course looking to win their second straight league title and currently find themselves sitting twelve points ahead of the Rangers. On the other hand, their opponents will be looking to stay up in the top flight.
Of course, Celtic will have to be considered as the favourites to get a win on the occasion. But at the same time, an away trip to Kilmarnock could throw up some tricky challenges for Ange Postecoglou’s team too.
On top of that, while they might have been winning one game after the other, Celtic have not looked at their glorious best in recent weeks. Hopefully, they will put in a good performance at the weekend against Kilmarnock.
Kilmarnock star, Danny Armstrong, appears to be looking to make things difficult on their away trip though. While speaking with Sky Sports, he said:
"“Coming here isn’t easy and we’ll hope to make it as hard as possible for them…”"
Kilmarnock star makes big claim before facing Celtic
Armstrong has been one of the standout players for Kilmarnock this season. When Celtic come visiting, they will have to keep an eye out on him as one of the players who can give them troubles on the day.
But if Celtic are at their best, one would think that they would have more than enough in the tank to get a win and take all three points home from their trip to Kilmarnock.
They sit twelve points clear at the top of the Premiership table with just seven more league games left to be played this season. Thus, one final push could be enough to get the Hoops past the finishing line and crown them champions of Scotland once again.
