‘Winners and losers’ – Celtic hero sends brutal message to Rangers
It has been a few days since Celtic defeated the Rangers in the Glasgow Derby to go twelve points clear at the top of the table. But the discussion around the game continues to go on. And it feels like a bit too much is being made of what was at best a 50/50 decision involving the disallowed Alfredo Morelos goal.
A lot of the Rangers fans seem to have taken a lot of confidence from the match despite their losing effort at Parkhead. Many even seem to believe that it is the refereeing decisions which ended up determining the match.
First of all, there was no clear and obvious error on the part of the referee on the day. Secondly, Celtic were nowhere near their best, were missing a key player in Reo Hatate and yet found a way to get a positive result against Michael Beale’s side.
Chris Sutton wrote in his column in the Daily Record:
"“It was a bit confusing at the weekend seeing all the celebrations at the weekend at Parkhead considering Celtic didn’t win.“Well, that’s what Todd Cantwell said, and who are we to argue with him? He said Celtic didn’t win, it was Rangers who lost. So by that logic, Celtic won’t win the league, Rangers will lose it? I’m not sure that’s how football works. There are winners and losers – and it’s clear who’s who in Glasgow at the moment.”“It just baffles me about the rhetoric from Rangers after these games as it’s the same all the time. After the Ibrox game in January it was, ‘we’ll see the real Rangers at Hampden’. They lose that one and it was ‘it’ll be different at Celtic Park’. Now it’s ‘we showed we can win at Hampden again’, ‘next year we’ll be a real force’ etc, etc.”"

Celtic will know that they will have to be better when they face the Rangers again, at the end of his month, in the Scottish Cup semi-finals. Hopefully, Hatate will be fit to feature by then and other players will have recovered from their issues as well.
The fact of the matter is that Celtic have not lost a Glasgow Derby this season till now and have pretty much dominated the fixture since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as the manager of the club.
Hopefully that run will continue till the end of the campaign at the very least. Because if it does then there is a very real chance that Celtic could end up winning a treble. Of course, Postecoglou’s side will know that they need to take it one game at a time and not look too far ahead of themselves.
