Celtic got themselves a very important win over the Rangers at the weekend to go twelve points clear at the top of the table. The Premiership title race is not over yet though. There are still seven games left to be played in the league and while the Hoops might be heavy favourites to go and win it from here, there is still a job to be done. The possibility of breaking some records should be tempting as well.

Their next test in the Premiership will be an away trip to Kilmarnock. The opposition are trying to avoid relegation from the Scottish top flight and so, a lot will be riding on this game for them as well.

Celtic cannot make the mistake of taking this game lightly. They have not looked at their best in recent games, even though they have found ways to win. And it is no co-incidence that the inconsistent performances have come while Reo Hatate has been out with an injury.

Hatate is a key player for Celtic and very vital in the middle of the park for them. He has been ruled out of the game against Kilmarnock as well, although Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that it is not a long-term issue. As reported by Football Scotland, the manager said:

"“It’s fair to say Reo won’t make next week. But he won’t be out long term. It’s just a case of making sure he’s ready to go.”"

It might be a matter of not risking Hatate at this point of time. The Hoops still have some very important games left to be played this season.

One of them is certainly going to be the Scottish Cup semi-finals against the Rangers at Hampden Park later this month. Celtic lost the same fixture last season.

With a treble up for grabs, they surely will want to make sure that that does not happen this season. Postecoglou’s team have not lost against the Rangers in this campaign till now. Let’s hope that remains the case.
