Celtic are one of the best supported teams in all of football. Fans around the world often fail to estimate the size of the club simply because they play in the Scottish Premiership and cannot compete with teams from the top five European leagues in terms of finances. But not many can claim that they compete for trophies on a consistent basis while playing in front of 60,000 fans every week.
Some of the biggest players in the history of football have been blown away by the Parkhead atmosphere over the years. Legends like Lionel Messi, Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Kaka and several others have had only positive things to say about their experience of playing at Celtic Park.
A Bayern Munich star seems to have enjoyed his trip to Parkhead. It is none other than Kingsley Coman.
Coman played at Celtic Park back in 2017 in the UEFA Champions League and opened the scoring for Bayern Munich on that night. As reported by Football Scotland, he told The Times:
"“I really like Celtic Park.“We played against Celtic in the Champions League, in Scotland. It was incredible, with the play of lights at the start. It was very noisy.”"
Bayern Munich star makes sensational Celtic Park claim
Coman has been involved in some of the biggest games in football. He has been in a World Cup final, won the Champions League, won league titles in three of the top five European leagues.
Thus, praise coming from him about the experience of playing at Celtic Park certainly counts for something. But to be honest, it is not completely unexpected.
A lot of players who get the chance to play Champions League football under the bright lights of Parkhead end up being blown away by the entire spectacle. It is truly something that has to be experienced to understand.
As things stand, it looks like Celtic are set to make the group stage of the Champions League next season as well. Could they be drawn against Bayern Munich again?
