Many Rangers fans believed that the Alfredo Morelos goal that was disallowed against Celtic, should have stood. It must be pointed out that the Colombian striker did have both his hands on Alistair Johnston in the lead up to it. And the Ibrox club even demanded answers regarding the decision after the match.

Morelos found the back of the net in the most recent Glasgow Derby but it was adjudged to be a foul on Johnston from the Colombian striker in the lead up to the goal. Unsurprisingly, there were  number of people who did not agree with the decision that the referee had taken.

It looks like the Rangers have gotten a reply from the Scottish FA regarding the incident though. And the Ibrox team do not seem to be particularly happy or satisfied with the response to say the least.

As reported by Sky Sports, a Rangers spokesperson said:

"“The club can confirm the Scottish FA has responded with regards to the disallowed Alfredo Morelos goal, with the response claiming the correct decision was taken. The club is astonished by this, especially given most observers, including former referees and former players, could see no issue with the goal standing.”"

It is safe to say that a number of the Rangers’ fans believed that the refereeing decisions on the day ended up deciding the result of the most recent Glasgow Derby. The fact of the matter is though that Celtic won, thanks to a brace from Kyogo Furuhashi and another strike from Jota.

Michael Beale’s side ended up making a couple of terrible mistakes at the back, which the Hoops took advantage of and put the ball into the back of the net. This was a closer derby than most recent ones have been though.

Celtic were not at their best on the day. They badly missed Reo Hatate. And when the two teams end up meeting in the Scottish Cup semis later this month at Hampden Park, one would be hoping that the Hoops bring their A-game on that occasion.
