Celtic have been superb in the transfer market during the time of Ange Postecoglou as manager, pulling off one masterstroke after another. That was not always the case though, as their scouting and recruitment was pointed out as one of the major reasons behind the terrible 2020/21 season. That does not mean that the club were not making some great signings in the past.

One of the best signings that Celtic made in recent years was bringing in Jeremie Frimpong from Manchester City. Expectations were not high, and he was viewed as someone who would go into the developmental team initially.

Instead, Frimpong had established himself as a starter for Celtic a few months later, while still a teenager. His run at Parkhead was not long though, and he would end up joining Bayer Leverkusen in January of 2021.

Frimpong has shined there as well. And now, a huge transfer move could be waiting for him in the near future. That is great news for Celtic as well though, as they are believed to have a sell-on clause.

Latest Frimpong update is superb news for Celtic

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Frimpong is keen on a possible Manchester United move. This interest does not change the situation of Diogo Dalot at Old Trafford.

Frimpong has been superb since joining Bayer Leverkusen and established himself as one of the brightest young prospects in the Bundesliga. He is in and around the Netherlands national team picture as well. Thus, it should come as no surprise that clubs like Manchester United are rumoured to be taking an interest in him.

One would expect the transfer fee to be significant, if he does make the move in the near future. It could very easily be north of £40 million, considering his age and potential. That is superb news for Celtic.
