It might have already been a day since Celtic handed the Rangers another Glasgow Derby defeat, but the result is still the talk of Scottish football. That is expected to remain the case for a while as well. The 3-2 win sent Ange Postecoglou’s side twelve points clear at the top of the Premiership table with just seven more games left to be played. Thus, it might have ended the title race for good.

Yes, mathematically it is still not over. But it is hard to see Celtic struggling to get ten more points from here on, when they have dropped just five the entire season. Of course, anything can happen in football and they cannot take their eyes off the ball before they are officially crowned champions.

On the other hand, the Rangers have been left searching for answers after suffering another defeat at the hands of Celtic. And it looks like some of them believe that the defeat at Parkhead was more on themselves than on the opposition.

New Rangers signing, Todd Cantwell, wrote on his Instagram:

"The disappointment is real, we lost the game they didn’t win it. We continue to stick together and build in the right direction, this is a project and a exciting one. Stick together as one"

Admittedly, this Glasgow Derby was much closer than some recent ones have been at Parkhead. And to be very honest, Celtic were nowhere near their best.

They seemed to struggle in the middle of the park in the absence of Reo Hatate and quite a few players did not put in good performances. But ultimately, they were successful in doing what they do best and that is winning games of football.

On the other hand, the Rangers have not won a single derby this season till now. They will get two more chances to rectify that. Hopefully Celtic will bring their A-game on those occasions. There is still a possible treble on the table.
