Celtic continued their great run of form with a 3-2 win over their biggest rivals, as they march on towards a second straight Premiership title. After their victory over the Rangers, the Hoops now sit twelve points clear at the top of the table. And while nothing is certain in football, Ange Postecoglou’s side have to be considered as heavy favourites to go on and lift the trophy from this position.

Celtic have been the dominant side in Glasgow derbies since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager. Over that period of time, they have only lost twice against the Rangers, while getting several big wins along the way.

There still a couple of Glasgow Derbies left to be played this season, including the vital Scottish Cup semi-final. Thus, one would hope that Celtic will keep their great run of form against their rivals going. There is a potential treble up for grabs.

As reported by The Scotsman, Michael Beale said after his team’s 3-2 loss against Celtic away at Parkhead:

"“I think you can see, there were two good football teams today, there are two good football teams in this country, not one. And my players have got to keep showing it on the pitch and grab a bit of respect back because there is a bit of disrespect for a team that has lost six league games in 107.”"

It is true that the Rangers have been on a great run of form since the arrival of Beale as manager. But at the same time, they have failed to make any ground on Celtic.

The Hoops have matched them step for step and now, with this win in the Glasgow Derby, they have further extended their lead at the top of the table. Postecoglou’s side just seem unstoppable at this point of time.

Yes, the Rangers are a good team without doubt. But in Scotland, they will be measured up against Celtic. And they are falling short in that respect. They are twelve points behind Postecoglou’s team in the Premiership and have not won a Glasgow Derby this season till now. Hopefully, that remains the case for a long time to come.
