Celtic got themselves a brilliant 3-2 win over the Rangers to put themselves twelve points ahead of the Ibrox club in the Premiership title race. And unless something completely unexpected happens, they are expected to go on and win the league from here. A possible treble is still on the table for Ange Postecoglou’s side as well.

Thus, the Rangers find themselves in a similar position to what Celtic were in in the summer of 2021. The Hoops got almost everything perfect in that scenario, from the manager to the players. And they are reaping the benefits for that.

Now, it is the Rangers who are staring at a potential squad rebuild in the summer. And Michael Beale has hinted at significant additions recently. Can the Ibrox club pull it off though?

Frank McAvennie seems to have his doubts about the matter. As reported by Football Insider, the former Celtic star said:

"“I do not think they have got the money.“The manager is coming out and talking about how it is going to be the biggest spending they have ever had, what a lot of nonsense – garbage.“Unless he gets a lot of players out, they can’t bring players in. They are still trying to play catch up with Celtic and it is a hard job at the moment.”"

Now, to be fair to Beale, the Rangers have improved since his arrival as manager after Giovanni van Bronckhorst was shown the exit door by the club in the middle of the campaign.

They have not been able to match up to Celtic though. They have only lost two games under the management of Beale and both to Postecoglou’s team, who have only lost and drawn one domestic game each this season till now.

It remains to be seen what kind of a summer transfer window the Rangers end up having. Their fans seem to have big hopes from it.
