Celtic managed to get the better of the Rangers again to go twelve points clear at the top of the Premiership table with just seven games left to be played. Thus, the title race might be as good as over. The Hoops have only lost and drawn once each till now in the league this season. Thus, it is hard to see them struggling to get 10 more points from here on.

It was the closest Glasgow Derby at Parkhead in a while. But ultimately, a brace from Kyogo and a goal from Jota sealed the win and the three points for the hosts. James Tavernier scored twice for the Rangers but it was not enough to get them anything from this match.

On the other hand, it was a terrible day for the Rangers fans to say the least. They might have seen their side’s hopes of winning the league this season come to an end for good.

Unsurprisingly, social media was a lively place during and after the match, especially on the Rangers side of things.

Many Rangers fans were not happy with the Alfredo Morelos goal that was disallowed in the first half, even though he had both his hands on Alistair Johnston in the lead up to it. Others blamed the defensive errors that the Ibrox club made on the day. There were many who wanted the club to move on from players like Ryan Kent and Morelos in the summer and start a rebuild.

No matter what the case, it is safe to say that Celtic are in a much better position than the Rangers at this point of time. A double seems almost certain and a treble is still a possibility as well.

Their Scottish Cup semi final is against the Rangers, and they cannot rest on their laurels. This was a close match and Celtic were nowhere near their best. They must put in a better performance next time out against Michael Beale’s team.
