Celtic player ruled out of Glasgow Derby vs Rangers
A lot will be riding on the upcoming Glasgow Derby between Celtic and the Rangers at Parkhead this weekend. It could all but end the title race, if the Hoops are victorious. Such a result would send them twelve points clear at the top of the table with just seven games left to be played. On the other hand, if Michael Beale’s team win, it would give them some hope.
Based on recent fixtures between the two sides, especially at Parkhead, Celtic have to be considered as the favourites going into the match. They cannot make the mistake of taking the Rangers lightly though, as the Ibrox club have not lost a league game since appointing Beale as manager.
Hopefully, Celtic will bring their A-game to Parkhead this weekend against the Rangers. They will be without one of their key players though.
Reo Hatate is set to miss the Glasgow Derby. As reported by the Daily Record, Ange Postecoglou told Sky Sports:
"“Reo hasn’t come up but Aaron is fine so from last week, the only change is Aaron’s available.“It is disappointing for Reo more than anything, he loves playing these games, he’s had an impact every time he has. You get disappointed for the player and you want everyone available, but from a team perspective, we have depth in that area.”"

Hatate has been a key player for Celtic since his arrival in January of last year from Kawasaki Frontale. Thus, the Japanese midfielder missing the Glasgow Derby is a major blow for Postecoglou’s side for sure.
He picked up an injury against Hibernian, in the last game before the international break. And unfortunately, we have not seen him in action since.
Celtic do have a nine point advantage though. Thus, it would not make any sense for them to take a risk on the fitness of Hatate. There is still quite a bit of football left to be played this season.
It remains to be seen what kind of a midfield trio Postecoglou goes for in the absence of Hatate. Playing Tomoki Iwata, Callum McGregor and Aaron Mooy together in the middle of the park might make sense though.
