Celtic have a deep squad at this point of time. That is one of the big reasons why Ange Postecoglou’s side have been so successful this season. With enough options all over the pitch, they have managed to navigate through the twists and turns that the campaign has presented them. There are some positions though, where they could still do with reinforcements.

Celtic might be in need of another goalkeeper soon. Joe Hart has done a good job since arriving but it is worth remembering that he is going to turn 36 years of age this month. Thus, he is not expected to be the number one for many more years. The club do have Benjamin Siegrist but he is yet to see much playing time. Scott Bain does not appear to be a solution either.

Rumours have linked Celtic with a potential move for Liverpool’s Caoimhin Kelleher. And a recent development will raise their interest.

As reported by Varden (via Fotbolltransfers), Liverpool are showing an interest in Leopold Wahlstedt.

Wahlstedt is a Swedish goalkeeper, who has also represented their national team. He is just 23 years of age and could be one for the future.

Liverpool’s rumoured interest in him does suggest though that the Reds could be in search of a back up goalkeeper. Kelleher’s future seems to be up in the air at this point of time and Celtic are not the only team who have been linked with him. Other Premier League clubs seem to have an eye on him as well.

Kelleher is very highly rated as a goalkeeper but has failed to get ahead of Alisson in the pecking order. If Liverpool do end up signing another player between the posts then that would open the door for the Republic of Ireland international to get a move away from Anfield.
