€75 million German wonderkid curious about Celtic

Celtic are one of the biggest clubs in world football. A lot of football fans around the world struggle to understand how big the Glasgow giants really are, simply because of the fact that they play in the Scottish Premiership and unfortunately, cannot compete with clubs from the big five European leagues financially.

What makes Celtic special are its fans though. It is one of the best supported clubs on the planet and one of the most fascinating teams to follow for sure.

Florian Wirtz is someone who has played against Celtic in the past. And it looks like the German wonderkid has asked Bayer Leverkusen teammate, Jeremie Frimpong, about the Hoops.

As reported by the Daily Record, Frimpong told Relevo:

"“‘Flo’ asked me about Celtic, he invited me to his house, we would go out for dinner.”"

Of course, Frimpong will know a lot about what it takes to play for Celtic. He arrived at the club as a teenager from Manchester City.

When the move was made, there were not too many expectations and most people viewed it as one for the future, that might or might not work out. Frimpong was playing first-team football for the club just a few months later though and eventually nailed down his place as a starter.

He would not stay at Celtic Park for too long. 18 months later, in January of 2021, Frimpong would end up moving to Bayer Leverkusen. He has done well there as well and has been one of the best young players in the Bundesliga. So much so that he is being linked with some of the biggest clubs on the planet including Manchester United.

On the other hand, Wirtz is considered as the biggest talent in German football right now. He has recently returned from a long-term injury though and it remains to be seen if his career is still on the same path. He has impressed since returning though.
