Celtic have a number of players in their ranks, who have been linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer. It is not hard to see why either. On one hand, it is not uncommon to see the club’s best players make the move down south. On the other hand, the Hoops have been enjoying a lot of success on the pitch and have some incredible talents right now.

Names like Kyogo, Daizen Maeda, Liel Abada, Carl Starfelt and a few others have been linked to the Premier League. But the player who might be the most ready for the English top flight might be Reo Hatate.

The Japanese midfielder was signed in January of 2022 from Kawasaki Frontale and he has been absolutely superb since then. Hatate’s technical ability is brilliant and he has become a nailed on starter for the Hoops.

Amidst the links to the Premier League, he has been reminded about what he has at Parkhead though. As reported by Football Insider, Frank McAvennie said:

"“I think he is the one player, before Jota and all that, he is the one that could do the step up.“But I do not think he is ready yet. I think he is enjoying everything about Celtic at the moment.“There is not many clubs that you can play in front of 60,000 fans every other week. He is adored.”"

Hatate has been superb for Celtic ever since arriving. He did have an average spell towards the end of last season but it felt like he had run out of steam at that point of time.

He has been brilliant this season from the very start and is one of the best players in Scottish football right now. As a result, the club will surely be hoping that Hatate remains at Parkhead for as long as possible.

Brighton & Hove Albion are the club rumoured to be keeping an eye on Hatate. The Japanese midfielder is still just 25 years of age though and only arrived in Europe a little over a year ago. Thus, some more time at Parkhead could be good for him before considering a new challenge.
