Celtic are well on their way to another successful season. They already have the League Cup in the bag, are leading the league title race by nine points with just eight more games to go and are in the semis of the Scottish Cup as well, where they will be taking on the Rangers. As a result, a potential treble is still possible.

A number of players have stepped up to the plate this season. And someone whose performances have gone a bit under the radar is Jota.

One key reason behind that is Jota has been playing a bit out of position. Of course, he can play on the right wing, but he looks at his best on the opposite flank. That role has been occupied by Daizen Maeda though, who has been superb as well.

Despite that, Jota has been putting up the big numbers and making his presence felt for the Hoops. And Ange Postecoglou seems to be believe that there is more to come from him. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, the Australian manager said while speaking on Celtic’s official YouTube channel:

"“Jota in his career before he got to us wasn’t going on the trajectory he wanted and he was the one who made the decision to come here and work hard at his game and improve, and he is.“He’s constantly improving, like all the group, and that needs to keep happening because there’s more in them, there’s more in him and I’m sure he’s working his way towards that.”"

Jota was brought in on loan from Benfica last season. And so impressive were his performances, that the club ended up signing the Portuguese winger on a permanent basis in the summer.

While there might not be the frenzy around him at the moment that was there last season, he remains just as key to this side. Jota just brings something to the table that other players in the squad don’t.

He has already been superb for Celtic for two seasons now. And if there is more to come from him, then that is fantastic news for the Hoops moving forward. Jota is still just 24 years of age and nowhere near his prime yet.
