Celtic have shown an incredible eye for talent in recent times. The club have made a number of signings over the past four transfer windows under the management of Ange Postecoglou and most of them have proven to be success stories. And it is not just the present that the Hoops are looking out for, but the future as well.
It looks like a Manchester City youngster has caught the eye of Celtic now. And the good news is that he looks set to be available this season.
As reported by Football Insider, Celtic, Stoke City and Watford are plotting offers for Manchester City’s Freddie Anderson. The youngster is set to leave the club this summer.
Anderson is a centre-back and can play as a right-back as well. Interestingly, he is the son of Viv Anderson, who was the first signing of Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United back in 1987.

Of course, if Anderson was brought in, he would be expected to go into the B team. The Hoops have quite a talented unit there though, including players like Bosun Lawal, Rocco Vata, Joey Dawson and more, who are expected to have a future in the senior team.
It remains to be seen if Celtic are able to add Anderson as well. It must be pointed out that Celtic enjoyed quite a bit of success when they signed Jeremie Frimpong as a teenager from Manchester City in the not too distant past.
Frimpong would go on to establish himself as a starter at right-back for Celtic before making a move to Bayer Leverkusen for a transfer fee believed to be around £11.5 million. And he is expected to make an even bigger move in the future, which will hand the Hoops a solid cash boost through a sell-on clause.
