A lot has been made of Celtic’s fitness situation during the international break. Quite a few players were believed to have been left out of their national team squads as they were playing through injuries. On the other hand, there were others who either pulled out or returned early in order to manage their problems.

Considering the situation and how close we are to the end of the season, fans could not be blamed for getting worried about the situation. Every upcoming game is important and Celtic cannot afford to slip up with two trophies still up for grabs.

There is some good news before their return to Premiership action this weekend, with an away trip against Ross County. It looks like two players, who were believed to be dealing with fitness issues, are set to return to action.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Greg Taylor and Daizen Maeda are expected to be available for the game against Ross County.

Taylor has established himself as a key starter for Celtic under the management of Ange Postecoglou. He is believed to have been managing an Achilles issue though and even missed Scotland national team duty during this international break.

On the other hand, Maeda has grown in prominence in the starting XI this season. He did go on international duty with Japan but chose to return early.

If both are indeed available against Ross County then that would be great news for Celtic. They are two key players in the current set up and the club certainly need them heading into the business end of the season.

There are other players who appear to be dealing with fitness issues at the moment. And hopefully they will also be back on the pitch as soon as possible.
