Celtic are enjoying a lot of success on the pitch right now and have already won three trophies under the management of Ange Postecoglou, with more possibly on the way. One of their greatest strengths has been their recruitment during this period of time. But on the other hand, the club have also had a tough time in recent years, holding on to their most talented youngsters.

Fans have complained about the lack of youth stars who have broken into the senior team in recent years. But at the same time, one cannot overlook the number of talented youngsters who have left the club before ever making an impact for the first-team.

Clubs like Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and several others have swooped in to sign youth stars from Celtic. And now, it looks like another one is on his way to the Premier League.

As reported by Football Insider, Celtic have accepted a £1.2 million bid from Aston Villa for Aidan Borland. The initial fee is believed to be around £300,000 and it could rise to £1.2 million with add-ons.

Borland is just 15 years of age but the midfielder has impressed immensely already. He has even captained Scotland at youth level.

As a result, there is no doubt that he is very highly rated and was expected to have a big future ahead of him at Parkhead. That is not to be though, as it appears that he is on his way down south in order to join Aston Villa.

Of course, that will come as a blow to Celtic. Borland is not the only highly rated youngster that they have lost in recent times. It was not too long ago that Ben Doak joined Liverpool and he has already appeared at the senior level for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
