Celtic have made so many brilliant signings during the time of Ange Postecoglou as manager that it is hard to point out which one has been the best. That is a great thing of course, as it means that there have been plenty of standouts and their success on the pitch over the past season-and-a-half is proof of that.

The likes of Kyogo, Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and a few others certainly deserve consideration as being the club’s best signing during the Postecoglou Era. But another player who certainly has to be in the running is Reo Hatate.

Hatate was signed in January of last year from Kawasaki Frontale and would go on to make an immediate impact. It was his brace against the Rangers that turned the tide of the title race in Celtic’s favour.

Hatate’s form would fade away towards the end of last season. But he has been brilliant this time around, and one of the best players in Scotland if not the very best. That, of course, has drawn the interest of clubs down south.

As reported by Football Insider, Brighton & Hove Albion are plotting to sign Hatate from Celtic this summer. The Seagulls have scouted him. The midfielder has been attracting interest from Premier League clubs as well as others in Europe.

Of course, losing Hatate at this point would be a major blow for the Hoops. He has been a nailed on starter for the club in recent times and is expected to continue in that role, with how good he has been.

Thus, Celtic fans will be hoping that Hatate remains at Parkhead for as long as possible even though he is being linked with a move away. Let’s see what the future holds for the midfielder.
