Scotland defeat Spain but Celtic handed bad news
The Scotland national team got themselves a famous win in the UEFA EURO Qualifiers, by defeating Spain by a 2-0 scoreline. Scott McTominay managed to score twice, early in either half, to set his side on the way to victory. Overall, it was a brilliant night and Celtic fans must be delighted with the result. But the Hoops were handed some bad news as well.
Kieran Tierney is expected to head out of Arsenal in the summer. He has been linked with the likes of Newcastle United and Aston Villa.
Of course, Celtic will be interested in the matter because they are believed to have a sell-on clause in Tierney’s deal. It was in the summer of 2019 that the Scottish left-back joined Arsenal for a transfer fee believed to be around £25 million.
But as reported by Football Scotland, Tierney was forced off the pitch during Scotland’s win over Spain. It is understood the former Celtic player sustained a calf knock on the night.

If Celtic are looking forward to receiving a cash boost in the summer from Tierney’s Arsenal exit, then this might be bad news in that regard. They must be hoping that it is not a serious matter and he is back on the pitch as soon as possible.
On the other hand, another knock just adds to Tierney’s reputation for being injury-prone. And that is not good, if he is to change clubs in the summer and could end up knocking down his transfer fee further.
Not too long ago, Tierney was rated at a transfer fee north of £50 million and was linked with clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid. It is safe to say that that is no longer the case, as he has lost his place in the starting XI at Arsenal in this season.
