Ange Postecoglou is as safe as can be in the Celtic hot seat right now but the same thing cannot be said about the rest of the managers around Scottish football. There has been a bit of a managerial merry-go-round going on around the Premiership for a few years now, with coaches struggling to hold onto their jobs for any considerable length of time.
One of the clubs that has been affected by this is Aberdeen. They are already set to appoint their third manager since the start of last season.
As reported by the Daily Record, Barry Robson is set to get the chance to manage Aberdeen. The interim manager is set to get the nod until the end of the season.
Robson has been in interim charge of the club since the departure of Jim Goodwin and he has steadied the ship for sure. When he got the opportunity, Aberdeen were sinking and quickly. But they have been on a good run of form since then and are competing for third spot now. That is an impressive turnaround to say the least and the coach has certainly earned the opportunity.
Former Celtic player set to become Aberdeen manager
Robson played for Celtic for a few seasons before leaving for Middlesbrough in early 2010. Other than that, he represented several other teams during his playing career, including Aberdeen. He was also a Scottish international.
The Aberdeen job is set to be his first in the managerial hot seat himself. He has taken charge of the Dons in the past but only in an interim capacity.
It remains to be seen if he can break the managerial cycle that Scottish football seems to be stuck in at the moment, where managers come in and impress, only to fade away badly before being shown the exit door.
