Celtic have been dealing with a number of injuries recently. Several of their players have had to pull of their national team squads or return early from international duty as a result of them, as it looks like the issues might be mounting up for Ange Postecoglou’s team. And it is not just the senior team that has been affected either.

Celtic have some very highly rated youngsters coming through the B team level, who are pretty much knocking on the door of the senior side. One player who falls under that category is Joey Dawson.

Dawson had been in spectacular form in the ongoing campaign, as he has scored 20 goals in the Lowland League for the Celtic B team already. Unfortunately though, its looks like his season is over and then some.

As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Dawson confirmed on his Instagram that he will be back on the pitch in 2024. Fortunately, his operation was successful and now he looks forward to recovery.

Dawson looked like one of the players who was on the verge of breaking into the senior team. He was scoring for fun in the Lowland League and if he continued at this rate, it would not have been a stretch to imagine him being given the role of third striker next season.

Considering the circumstances, Dawson’s injury could not have come at a worst possible time. He picked up the issue in a game against Cumbernauld Colts early in March.

A long road to recovery is ahead of Dawson now and one can only hope that when he does eventually return, he is as good as ever. There is no question about the potential he has and the 19-year-old can be a regular fixture in the senior team one day. For now, we can only hope that he returns to full fitness soon.
