Celtic ready offer amid Tottenham Hotspur rumours

Celtic have been immensely successful over the past couple of seasons or so. Since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager, they have already won three trophies, and more could be on the way, as they lead the Premiership title race by nine points with nine games to go and are in the semis of the Scottish Cup as well, where they will be taking on the Rangers.

Not many could have seen this kind of domination coming from Celtic, especially after the terrible 2020/21 campaign, when they finished 25 points behind the Rangers in the Premiership and finished trophyless overall. It would be safe to say that Postecoglou has overdelivered on all expectations.

At the same time, it looks like Postecoglou’s success has caught the eye of clubs down south as well. He has already been linked with the likes of Leeds United, Everton, Southampton, Wolves and more. Tottenham Hotspur are the latest club to be linked with the Australian manager.

But as reported by Football Insider, Celtic want to hand Postecoglou a new and improved long-term deal after he was shortlisted by Tottenham Hotspur. The Hoops are preparing a “huge” contract offer.

It would be brilliant if Celtic are able to get Postecoglou to agree to a long-term contract. There is no doubt that him staying on would be the best thing for the club. Very few people could have done the job that he has since arriving.

At the same time though, one cannot forget that he is in his late 50s and does not have a lot of time on his hands to achieve his managerial targets.

Thus, if a club like Tottenham Hotspur do come calling, it would only be natural for him to give the matter a thought. The only thing that Celtic fans can ask for is that he does not leave in the middle of a campaign.
