Several Celtic players have been performing at a high level this season. As a result, the club have already won the League Cup, are leading the Premiership title race by nine points with just nine more league games left to be played and they are also in the semi finals of the Scottish Cup, where they will take on the Rangers at Hampden Park.

Considering the success that Celtic have enjoyed recently, it will come as a surprise to absolutely nobody that a number of their players are being linked with moves away from Parkhead. One such star, who seems to be drawing interest from the Premier League is the club’s Swedish centre-back, Carl Starfelt.

Starfelt has been a mainstay in the heart of defence for Celtic, alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers, since last season. And while he has had his fair share of critics, there is no doubt that the Swede has been a key part of the Hoops’ successes under the management of Ange Postecoglou.

Despite of the Premier League rumours, for the time being, he seems to be focused only on Celtic. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Starfelt said to Fotboll Skanalen:

"“No, I like it very much as it is right now. My agent will take care of the rest and then if something comes up, we’ll deal with it then. But I have no thoughts right now except for Celtic.”"

It is great to see that Starfelt is focused on Celtic. With the Premiership and Scottish Cup still to play for, there is no room for distractions at this stage of the season.

If an offer to go to the Premier League did come up in the summer, one would expect Starfelt to consider it. That’s just the reality of the situation and Celtic fans are no strangers to seeing their key players leaving.

Starfelt is a nailed on starter though and one would be hoping that he remains at the club. But if he does leave, the Hoops already have Yuki Kobayashi in their ranks, who can play a similar role beside Carter-Vickers in the heart of defence.
