Celtic have been hit with quite a few injury worries in recent weeks. Both Aaron Mooy and Tomoki Iwata were left out of the squad against Hibernian. Reo Hatate ended up picking up a problem in that very same game. There have also been suggestions that Cameron Carter-Vickers and Greg Taylor have been playing through fitness issues lately, and were left out of their national team squads as a result.

And now, it looks like the club have been handed another worry, heading into the business end of the season. Liel Abada appears to have picked up an injury, while away on international duty.

As reported by the Scottish Daily Express, Abada pulled out of training with the Israeli national team. He suffered a thigh muscle problem and may need to go to hospital.

Celtic fans will be hoping that the problem is not anything serious. Abada is an important part of this team and they will surely want to have him available for the final part of the season, with the Premiership and the Scottish Cup still up for grabs.

A lot has been made about the future of Abada lately. Rumours have suggested that Southampton are readying a transfer bid for the Celtic player and want to sign him in the summer.

While Abada might not be a starter for Celtic, he is a key player nonetheless. He has been regularly brought off the bench throughout the season, and made his presence felt as well, with both goals and assists.

Thus, one can only hope that he is fine. But in the scenario that Abada has to spend some significant time out on the sidelines, Celtic should have enough depth in their squad to cover up for him in the upcoming games.
