A number of Celtic players appear to be dealing with injuries at the moment. There have been suggestions that Greg Taylor and Cameron Carter-Vickers have been playing through issues, which is why they were left out of their national team squads for this international break. Reo Hatate got injured in the match against Hibernian. Tomoki Iwata and Aaron Mooy were left out of the squad for that match. And Liel Abada picked up a problem while on international duty.

There seems to be another player who is carrying an injury at the moment though. It is none other than Daizen Maeda.

Maeda has become an integral part of Ange Postecoglou’s team this season. At the moment, it is hard to think of a starting XI without him. And it looks like he has been going the extra mile, by making adjustments to his training, to make sure that he is available for selection.

As reported by Football Scotland, Maeda has revealed he is battling against a knee injury and he told Japanese outlet Hochi:

"“I have adjusted for about an hour by cycling and jogging before training. I’m going to make adjustments so that I can make it in time for games.”"

Another Celtic player is dealing with an injury right now

Maeda is a very important member of this side. Not only are his goals and assists important to Celtic, but his incredible work rate and pressing up top as well.

For the time being, it looks like his training is working, as he has not missed any significant time due to the issue that he is carrying. And one would be hoping that that remains the case as well.

Of course, playing through an injury is never good for a player. Thus, let’s hope that Maeda is back to full fitness as soon as possible. Right now, he is away on international duty with the Japan national team. Let’s see if he ends up getting some rest or not.
