Celtic have a stacked roster at this point of time and it is hard to see any holes in the depth of their squad. That is one of the biggest reason why they have been able to carry on with their momentum throughout this campaign, even when they have been faced with injuries to key players.
There is one area though, where Celtic might need to strengthen in the near future. That is goalkeeper. Joe Hart has done a very good job since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2021, both as a player and as a leader. But one cannot forget that he will be turning 36 years of age next month.
As a result, Celtic will need to find a new number one between the posts sooner or later. And it looks like they have a player from Liverpool in their sights.
As reported by The Transfer Room, Celtic have been watching Liverpool’s Caoimhin Kelleher. He has asked to leave Anfield this summer.
Celtic interested in signing 24-year-old Liverpool goalkeeper
Kelleher is very highly rated at Liverpool. Many will remembering him starring in last season’s League Cup final against Chelsea, as the Reds went on to lift the trophy. But despite his undeniable talent, it is hard to see the Republic of Ireland getting ahead of Alisson anytime soon.
As reported by CaughtOffside, there has not yet been a decision made on the future of Kelleher according to Fabrizio Romano in his exclusive Daily Briefing for CaughtOffside.
Kelleher is only 24 years of age and has only been successful in making a handful of appearances for Liverpool. As a result, it is not hard to see why leaving the club might be the best step for his career at this point of time. Other than Celtic, Premier League teams like Leicester City and Aston Villa are also believed to be interested in the goalkeeper’s signature.
