Celtic have been very good when it comes to their transfer business since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager and it is now viewed as one of their biggest strengths. That was not always the case though. In fact, their poor recruitment in the summer of 2020 was one of the biggest reasons behind the terrible campaign that the club went on to endure.

The club did make plenty of additions, as they looked to win a historic 10IAR. But unfortunately, most of them struggled to make an impact. The only success story from that summer transfer window has proven to be David Turnbull, and even he does not have a regular place in the team these days.

One signing from that summer that did not work out at all was that Albian Ajeti. Initially, rumours had suggested that he was being brought in on loan but then, the club shelled out a figure around £5 million to sign the Swiss striker on a permanent basis.

Ajeti struggled to make much of an impact during his first couple of seasons at Celtic. And now, he finds himself out on loan at Sturm Graz. He is not having a great time there either though. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 4 goals in 18 appearances this season.

Ajeti had made a bright start to life at Parkhead and quickly brought up his first five goals in Celtic colours. But he would end up suffering an injury early on in his run at the club.

While the injury did not keep him out of action for long, Ajeti was never able to rediscover his early form. Now with the club having Kyogo Furuhashi in their ranks, while Oh Hyeon-gyu is also looking promising as well, it is clear that the Swiss international does not have a long-term future at Parkhead.

Celtic might have a tough time finding Ajeti a new home though, considering his recent form. His contract runs until the summer of 2024.
