Most Celtic fans are not too fond of Ryan Kent. That is pretty safe to say. The Englishman made a move to the Rangers from Liverpool and has gone on to become one of the faces of their club, although one cannot overlook the fact that his recent record has not been great and he has failed to meet a lot of expectations.

A lot of Rangers fans believed that Kent had the potential to be the best player in the Scottish Premiership. And to be fair to him, he did have a very good 2020/21 campaign. But since then, his numbers have taken a bit of a drop.

The possibility of him leaving Ibrox soon is very real as well. As things stand, his current deal with the Rangers runs out in the summer, and he is yet to agree an extension with Michael Beale’s side.

Frank McAvennie has backed Kent to make a move to the Premier League though. As reported by Football Insider, the former Celtic star said about the Rangers player:

"“I can see Leeds taking a chance on him. I can’t see anyone taking a chance on [Alfredo] Morelos. Certainly not in the Premier League.“Kent has got talent there is no doubt about that. So, I can see someone thinking they can get the best out of him.”"

Kent has not been putting up the numbers over the past couple of seasons. He only scored two league goals in the previous campaign and has three to his name in this one till now.

Those are not great numbers for someone who was hyped up by Rangers supporters as the most talented player in the Premiership not too long ago. If his contract does end up running out, it will be interesting to see if Premier League clubs come calling.

Celtic, of course, have their own worries with the Premier League. A number of key players have been linked with a move down south lately, as has manager Ange Postecoglou. The fans will be hoping that they stay put at Parkhead for as long as possible, as the club continue to enjoy success.
