Celtic got themselves back-to-back wins over Hearts. The 3-1 victory at Parkhead was followed by a 3-0 triumph at Tynecastle Park. As a result, not only did the Hoops maintain their nine point lead at the top of the Premiership table but they booked their place in the Scottish Cup semis as well, as they chase a potential treble.

For Robbie Neilson, it would be another disappointment, as they once again have no hope left of landing silverware this season. Hearts do sit at third in the Premiership though, and so they still do have something to play for.

Of course, Neilson is not a popular figure amongst Hoops supporters. And some of his comments after the game at Parkhead did not go down too well with the fans, as the Hearts manager questioned what it took for Celtic players to be shown a red card in their own backyard.

Frank McAvennie did not seem to agree with Neilson though. As reported by Football Insider, the former Celtic star said regarding the matter:

"“Does Neilson want nobody to tackle now? You could see that it was an accident. It looked worse than what it was but the bottom line is he was on the ground.“He did not show his studs, that is the reason why he did not get booked or sent off.“"

Whether you think it was a red card or not, the fact of the matter is that Celtic have been on the wrong end of decisions more often than not this season themselves. Yet they sit nine points clear at the top of the Premiership table, with 10 more games left to be played.

The back-to-back games against Hearts were tricky for Ange Postecoglou’s side. They are a good team, who are more than capable of cropping up with an upset on their day. Thus, the Bhoys deserve credit for getting the results that they were looking for on both occasions.

Of course, they have no time to celebrate or reflect, as the games keep coming thick and fast. Their next match is against Hibernian at Parkhead.
