Kyogo Furuhashi has been absolutely brilliant ever since joining Celtic in the summer of 2021. When he had arrived, many had questioned whether the Japanese forward would be able to deal with the physicality of the Scottish league. It is safe to say that we found our answer a long time ago.

Kyogo has been absolutely immense for Celtic, both last season and this time around as well. He scored his 25th goal of this campaign, with his strike against Hearts in the previous match. And with quite a bit of football left to be played, there is no reason he could not cross the 30-goal mark.

It is not just the amount of goals that he is scoring but the moments in which he scores as well. Kyogo scored a brace in last season’s League Cup final vs Hibernian to win Celtic the trophy. And he repeated that this time around against the Rangers. The Japanese international is truly a big match player.

Yet, it appears that Ange Postecoglou feels the Celtic players are still not getting the best out of Kyogo. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, the Australian said while speaking to Sky Sports Scotland after the 3-1 win over Hearts:

"“We still don’t use him as well as we should. Tonight was a classic example of that, I got really frustrated.“I just thought he was making some fantastic runs and after 18-months we should know the times to be able to play him in.“The beauty of him is he doesn’t get frustrated, even though I do, and he just keeps making those runs and with the first goal, getting in behind them and creating the chance for Daizen. The second one with his finish, he was outstanding again.”"

Celtic boss admits to one frustration regarding Kyogo

Kyogo’s biggest strength is his clever movement. It is absolutely off the charts and must be amongst the best on the planet. The Japanese star scored both his goals in the League Cup final against the Rangers by being in the right place at the right time.

Of course, that does not mean that he is not capable of scoring some absolute stunners as well. He has that in his locker if the situation calls for it. But there is no question that his positioning is his biggest asset as a striker.

Postecoglou’s comments are actually exciting because it means that there might be another level for Kyogo to unlock. He might already be the best in Scotland as is.
