Ange Postecoglou has the best problem that any Celtic manager could ask for, and that is that he has too many good players on his hands. Of course, one could argue that you can never have enough, and that is true to a certain extent as well. But now, the Australian must make sure that all of them are getting enough opportunities to develop and show what they are capable of.
Celtic’s biggest strength over the past couple of years has been their ability to identify top quality players and bringing them to Parkhead. It feels like they might have struck gold again with Tomoki Iwata.
The Japanese player looks absolutely class every time he gets on the pitch and it is unfortunate that he has not gotten his first start yet, since arriving in January. But that is the kind of depth that Celtic have in the middle of the park at this point of time.
As things stand, Callum McGregor, Aaron Mooy and Reo Hatate seem to be the three starters in midfield. And it is almost impossible to drop any of them at the moment. On the other hand, they also have Matt O’Riley, who has been unlucky to drop out of the regular starting XI in recent times. And it might be time to add Iwata to the mix as well.
Celtic player deserves more chances than he is getting right now
Iwata came on as a substitute in the game against Hearts for the final ten minutes or so and Celtic fans on Twitter seemed to be impressed with what they saw:
Iwata... Would love to see him in a midfield trio with Hatate & McGregor...

He looks a class player!!
Iwata looks extremely composed on the ball whenever he plays. And it feels like we will see more of him moving forward.
Whatever maybe the case, it is great to have a player of his quality around. Maybe you really can never have enough good ones!
