Celtic have done a fantastic job when it comes to their recruitment of players, during the time of Ange Postecoglou as manager. The club have brought in the likes of Kyogo, Jota, Reo Hatate, Cameron Carter-Vickers and several others, who have gone on to become some of the best performers in all of Scottish football. That is one of the biggest reasons why they have been so successful.
Not too long ago, recruitment was viewed as a weakness for the club though. The summer of 2020 is seen as a prime example of this, when their new arrivals failed to make an impact and it ultimately led to the terrible 20/21 campaign.
One such signing from that summer was Albian Ajeti. The Swiss striker was brought in for a transfer fee believed to be around £5 million and he failed to deliver on any of the expectations.
He currently finds himself away on loan at Sturm Graz. And as reported by Celtsarehere, there will be no chance of any Celtic redemption for Ajeti next season and Postecoglou has zero plans for him.
Celtic ready to let £5 million player leave next summer
Ajeti did arrive with a lot of expectations surrounding him and was expected to be the long-term replacement for Odsonne Edouard. The Swiss striker made a fine start to life at Celtic Park as well.
He quickly scored his first five goals in the Scottish Premiership and at point of time, he was averaging a goal ever 47 minutes in the league. He ended up suffering an injury in the process of scoring one of them though.
He did not have to spend a long time out on the sidelines as a result of the issue. But unfortunately, Ajeti was never able to rediscover his form. Since then, he has never really managed to establish himself as the first-choice striker at Parkhead. His loan spell at Sturm Graz is not going too well either and let’s see what the long-term future holds for him. It looks like Celtic are ready to part ways for good though.
