Celtic have an absolutely brilliant striker right now in the form of Kyogo Furuhashi, who has been scoring almost for fun at times this season. On the other hand, they brought in Oh Hyeon-gyu from Suwon Samsung Bluewings in January as well, and he has taken up Giorgos Giakoumakis’ spot in the squad.

Oh has been mostly restricted to appearances off the bench. But the South Korean striker has shown some promise and already has found the back of the net a couple of times for the Hoops. He has a long way to go through before he can even start pushing Kyogo.

That is pretty much it when it comes to Celtic’s depth at striker though. The club do have Albian Ajeti and Johnny Kenny out on loan, but it is hard to see either of them playing a major, if any, part next season. Daizen Maeda can play through the middle as well but that is not his best role.

Thus, Celtic could do with another striker, to provide cover for Oh and Kyogo. And they might already have him at the club.

Celtic have already found third striker for next season

Joey Dawson has been absolutely sensational for Celtic B this season. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 20 goals and provided 3 assists in 20 appearances in the Lowland League in the ongoing campaign.

He scored a brace against the Rangers B team in the City of the Glasgow Cup recently as well. Celtic B walked out with a 3-1 victory.

A common complaint from fans in recent times is that the club’s youth stars are not given enough chances. And Dawson has certainly earned himself some with his performances for Celtic B this season. He has been absolutely superb and should be handed the role of third striker from the next campaign.
