Celtic have been the dominant team in the Scottish Premiership once again this season. The club are leading the title race by nine points, with the Rangers sitting at second, with 11 games left to be played in the league. And their next match is up against Hearts, who sit at third in the table and will be looking to cause an upset when they come visiting Parkhead.
Of course, the two teams will meet each other in back-to-back games. Their second contest will in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup, away at Tannadice Park, which will be even more important for Hearts.
Thus, Celtic cannot make the mistake of taking Robbie Neilson’s side lightly, especially as the next two games can have impact on the direction of their entire campaign. On the other hand, one Hearts player seems to hold Kyogo Furuhashi in the highest regard.
Josh Ginnelly scored twice in his club’s recent 3-0 win over St Johnstone. And the forward has admitted to studying Kyogo, who he believes might be the best in the league right now. As reported by Football Scotland, the Hearts player said:
"“There were a couple of times this season where I probably didn’t deal with that situation too well – where I’ve sort of stayed on the penalty spot.“But I watch other strikers – and the best in the league is probably Kyogo. He is always in that right position. Look at his goals in last week’s final, he is always in that area. He’s a great player so I study some of the stuff that he does. And it worked for me on Saturday. As a player, it’s what you do. It’s not by mistake that these other strikers get into these good positions – it’s something they actually look for.”"
Hearts player makes brilliant statement about Celtic star
Kyogo has been superb for Celtic this season. He has been especially good after the World Cup break and is almost scoring for fun at the moment. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 24 goals and provided 4 assists in 36 appearances.
Of course, his two most important goals came in the final of the Scottish League Cup, as he scored a brace against the Rangers to guide Celtic to the title. Last season, he had done the same thing against Hibernian.
Kyogo did not find the back of the net in the 5-1 win over St Mirren though. Hopefully, he will do so against Hearts, which is expected to be a much tighter contest in terms of the scoreline.
