Celtic fans will be used to seeing key players leave. That is just how things work for the club. It was just recently that we saw the likes of Josip Juranovic and Giorgos Giakoumakis depart Parkhead. And it looks like there could be more such exits to come in the not too distant future, especially with how well Ange Postecoglou’s side have been playing.

That is one drawback of Celtic players shining in the Hoops. More often than not, they end up catching the eye of clubs down south and beyond.

One of the most recent players to be linked with a move away from Celtic Park is Carl Starfelt. The Swedish defender has been a starter for the Hoops ever since he arrived in the summer of 2021 from Rubin Kazan, even though questions have been asked about him on several occasions.

While speaking on PLZ Soccer, Hugh MacDonald said that he thinks Starfelt will leave in the summer. Clubs are believed to be looking at him right now.

While there have been many critics of Starfelt over his time at Parkhead, one cannot deny the fact that he has played his part in Celtic’s success during the time of Postecoglou as manager.

Starfelt has been a nailed on starter for Celtic for quite a while, despite there being plenty of competition in the heart of defence. And he has formed quite the defensive pairing with Cameron Carter-Vickers, with them delivering three trophies already and potentially more on the way.

So, it would be safe to say that Starfelt leaving would be a blow for Celtic. But considering how well the recruitment has done in recent times, one would feel confident that they would do a decent job finding a replacement for him, even if he did exit.
