Celtic and the Rangers met each other on the pitch last Sunday, with Ange Postecoglou’s side coming out on top. A brace from Kyogo Furuhashi was enough to win them the Scottish League Cup, for the second season running. Alfredo Morelos found the back of the net for Michael Beale’s side, but it was not enough to turn things around, as they lost by a 2-1 scoreline.
In Kyogo, Celtic have a striker, who is in world-class form right now. On the other hand, they have also brought in Oh Hyeon-gyu from Suwon Samsung Bluewings, who is showing a lot of promise.
At the same time, it looks like the club have their eyes on strengthening the area for the future as well. And it looks like a youngster from Reading has caught their eye. They are not alone though, as the Rangers are also believed to be interested in signing him.
As reported by Football Insider, Celtic and Rangers are both interested in Reading striker Luca Fletcher. The 15-year-old is a target for a number of clubs, including West Ham United.
Celtic and Rangers are reportedly both interested in striker
Fletcher currently plays for Reading at the youth level. The 15-year-old is a centre-forward but is believed to be capable of playing on the wings as well.
Fletcher has been impressive enough at the youth levels to draw the interest of some of the biggest clubs in Europe. Now, it remains to be seen if Celtic are able to win the race for his signature.
Celtic do not have a great record in recent times when it comes to bringing through their youth stars into the senior team. They have some huge talents in their ranks right now in the form of Rocco Vata, Bosun Lawal, Joey Dawson, Tobi Oluwayemi and several others, who will hopefully get a chance to show what they are capable of.
