Celtic have done a wonderful job rebuilding their squad under the management of Ange Postecoglou. And the club are reaping the rewards for that as well. They won a double last season and already have their hands on the first piece of silverware of this campaign, after winning the Scottish League Cup following a 2-1 win over the Rangers at Hampden Park.
A Kyogo Furuhashi brace was enough to seal the win and the title. The Japanese forward has not been the only standout signing of the Postecoglou era though. There have been several others who have come in and established themselves as key players for the Hoops.
One name that certainly falls under that category is that of Cameron Carter-Vickers. He was brought in on loan from Tottenham Hotspur just before the transfer window slammed shut in the summer of 2021. And what a move that turned out to be as well.
Carter-Vickers immense last season, helping Celtic to a Premiership and League Cup double. And he has continued to perform at a very high level this season as well. In fact, one could argue that he has gotten even better. Thus, it would not come as a surprise that clubs from abroad are taking notice.
Another Celtic player linked with exit after brilliant performances
As reported by FootballFanCast, while speaking on the House of Champions YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano put Carter-Vickers’ future in doubt ahead of the summer, as he said:
"“I think it’s going to be an important summer because I’m told some Premier League clubs are already exploring this possibility. Of course, he knows Premier League football so it could be a possibility in the summer but Celtic will try their best to keep their players.”"
It goes without saying that Carter-Vickers is a big part of this Celtic team. Thus, they should do everything that they can to make sure that he remains at Parkhead for the foreseeable future.
It was just last summer that he was signed on a permanent basis from Tottenham Hotspur, after his successful loan spell from the club in the 2021/22 campaign.
